Healy students are trained to save lives! 🚑

Last week, Colette Fitterer, RN, with the Take Heart America organization, volunteered to again teach our 8th and 10th grade health classes the life-saving practice of hands-only CPR along with how to use the AED machine. Thank you to Colette and the Take Heart organization for this opportunity!

A huge THANK YOU to Lakeshirts in Little Falls! 🧵✂️

Our FACS department (Family and Consumer Science—yes, we still sew!) received 9 large boxes of fabric scraps and spools of thread!

This generous gift means our students have tons of material for their sewing projects, including their popular quilt-making class. We love partnering with a local company that values community and recycling. Thank you, Lakeshirts, for supporting our students' creativity and skills!

Today we welcomed speaker Terrence Talley, who shared an inspiring message with students in grades 5–12 about the importance of perseverance and connection. His powerful mantra, “NEVER GIVE UP,” echoed through the gym as students turned to one another to repeat the words. Mr. Talley told stories of resilience, hope, and the strength that comes from reaching out to those who care about us during difficult times. The high-energy presentation featured a live band, fog machine, and laser light show, making it an unforgettable experience for everyone.

Future Fabricators in the Making! 🎓⚙️

Mr. Brisk's CNC Cutting and Fabrication class finished their first projects last week: metal signs they designed and engineered themselves. This project goes beyond just cutting metal. It shows that our students have mastered:

Computer-Aided Design (CAD): Creating the blueprint for their signs.

CNC Programming: Translating that design into code for the machine.

Plasma Table Operation: Safely and accurately using a powerful tool that cuts metal with a jet of plasma gas.

These are the high-tech, real-world skills that employers in manufacturing and engineering are looking for. Way to go students and Mr. Brisk! #PioneerPride #CareerTechEd

Pierz showed strong support for Pink Out tonight in honor of cancer awareness as the girls varsity volleyball team faced Foley. Although Pierz lost in three sets, it was a well-played match by both teams and great volleyball all around!

Students were amazed and inspired at the Young Scientist Conference, held on Thursday, October 2, at CLC-Staples Campus. All 4th–6th graders were invited and 34 of them joined Mrs. Sadlovsky for this wonderful day. The day began with Dr. Fun, an interactive keynote speaker. Then students broke into breakout sessions: rocks and minerals, drone racing, Lakewood Health, robotics, snakes and reptiles, space and aviation, beak investigations, and more. It was a fabulous day!

Color Wars: A Sea of School Spirit!

The MAC and Healy halls are a kaleidoscope of color today as our annual Color Wars pep fest took the stage! Students showed off their class pride in a vibrant display, with each grade level sporting its designated color.

  • 7th Grade brought the heat in classic white.

  • 8th Grade was a beacon of energy in bright orange.

  • Freshmen made a sunny statement in yellow.

  • Sophomores represented with some serious green gusto.

  • Juniors were true-blue in, well, blue!

  • And of course, our Seniors were the pinnacle of Pioneer pride in bold red.

This year's event introduced a new twist: sumo wrestling! The crowd went wild as sophomore Jayden Zajac grappled his way to victory against senior Bradly Tanner. And in a surprise twist, our very own Mr. Kummet stepped into the ring and took down junior Bo Woitalla!

Be sure to come out for the rest of Homecoming Week's events and cheer on your favorite Pioneers--tonight tennis takes on Foley away as does Cross Country, and Pioneers host the Little Falls flyers for our homecoming football game at 7pm Friday night!
