To the Esteemed Community Members, Families, Staff, and Students of Pierz Schools:

After 25 years of service to this remarkable school district, I am writing to formally announce my retirement as Superintendent, effective June 30, 2027.

It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve the community of parents, staff, and students that make up Pierz Schools. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity entrusted to me by the School Board in 2002. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working alongside many dedicated board members, each of whom provided the support and confidence necessary to lead with a shared vision of excellence across every aspect of our organization. Our standards and values have been our greatest source of pride. I cannot thank you enough for what that has meant to me, both professionally and personally.

Throughout my tenure, our staff, parents, and students have achieved exceptional success by nearly every meaningful measure—academic performance, rigorous coursework, athletic accomplishments, musical excellence, staff stability, student growth, and financial stewardship. Most importantly, we have built a district defined by the strength and character of its people. These outcomes reflect a collective commitment to high expectations and continuous improvement. I have been extraordinarily fortunate to work alongside outstanding teachers, talented principals, and dedicated staff members who care deeply about students and take great pride in their work. Their professionalism, passion, and unwavering focus on doing what is best for students are the true foundation of our success.

On a personal note, my wife Marge and I are especially grateful for the experiences our family has had in Pierz Schools. We are proud of the education, coaching, and support our three sons received here. Now, as they raise families of their own, we are thankful to enjoy this next chapter of life as grandparents.

I am deeply appreciative of the trust and partnership of the School Board. Together, we have built something truly special—a district widely recognized for its excellence, integrity, and strong sense of purpose. I take great pride in all we have accomplished and have full confidence in the district’s continued success.

It is almost impossible to compare our facilities and learning environments today to what existed in 2002. At that time, the current PAC and Pioneer Elementary gym were our only gym spaces. We could not host track meets. We had one practice football field for all grades and one softball field. Choir and band were housed in small, inadequate rooms. We had three science classrooms dating back to the original 1960s construction.

Since then, we as a community have made it a priority to invest in nearly every space where students learn, grow, and participate. We have provided our staff, students, families, and community with environments that support excellence and bring people together. Some of the improvements we’ve accomplished together include:

  • Expansion of outdoor facilities, including tennis courts, track, football fields, softball fields, and greenhouses

  • A new band suite, choir suite, and stage, co-located within a dedicated performing arts area

  • New spaces for fitness and dance programs

  • Construction of a new kindergarten wing

  • Construction of new classrooms for grades 5 and 6, including a dedicated science lab

  • Upgrades to existing science classrooms and the addition of a new lab

  • Structural improvements across both schools, including new roofing

  • Expansion of student support services, including mental health resources and the addition of the E-Wing

  • Construction of two new gymnasiums

  • Upgraded facilities and equipment for welding, machining, woods, and agriculture programs

  • A secure entrance and renovated commons and kitchen area at Healy High School

Notably, the majority of these improvements were completed using general funds the district saved through years of careful fiscal management, rather than relying on referendum funding. Throughout these efforts, we remained committed to minimizing the local tax burden while continuing to invest in excellence. This reflects the values of our community—achieving exceptional results through thoughtful planning, discipline, and stewardship.

Thank you for fostering a culture of trust, collaboration, and kindness that extends to every member of our organization and community. The relationships built over these years will remain among my most valued and lasting memories.

With sincere appreciation,

George Weber
