Pierz football will be playing St. Cloud Apollo at Apollo on Friday, October 9 at 4:30 PM. This week, the St. Cloud School District has implemented new safety protocols.
Pierz Schools supports the Apollo administration, players, coaches, students, and fans as they navigate these new safety protocols. We know these circumstances are not a reflection of the students or teams involved, and we appreciate everyone’s efforts to make Friday’s game a safe and positive experience.
The Pierz School District and coaching staff take this new protocol seriously. Extra precautions will be taken to ensure player safety. As always, we encourage spectating families and students to show Pioneer Pride, abiding by site rules and precautions. As always, thank you for your continued support of our students, staff, and community.
In the interest of full transparency and an over-abundance of caution, we want to include the statement that St. Cloud provided to all of their families and students:
Dear ISD 742 Families and Community,
Our games bring our school communities together, and we want every student, family member, and fan to feel safe when they come to cheer and support our student athletes. Like communities across Minnesota, we have seen an increase in safety-related incidents across our state and here at home. In response, and out of care for everyone who attends, we are putting new safety procedures in place for the remainder of some of our fall activities.
Beginning Friday, October 9, all football and soccer contests will follow these procedures.
All football and soccer games will start at 4:30 p.m.
All attendees should plan to leave the facility and grounds promptly after the game ends. Loitering will not be permitted.
All football and soccer spectators will go through metal detector screening at entry, with additional screening if there’s an alert.
Only clear bags and small bags no larger than 5" x 8" are allowed inside the stadiums. All bags will be searched upon entry.
To help entry go smoothly, please arrive early, bring only what you need, and talk with your students about these expectations before the game.
We know these changes ask something of our families, and we are grateful for your patience and partnership. Our goal is simple: to keep our games a safe, welcoming place where our students can compete, and our community can celebrate them.
Thank you for your partnership
